Shōjo manga pawā!

Japanese Manga is well known and read all over the world. Shojo Manga (Girls' Comics) especially attracts attention among the many types of comics. It may be because of its rich diversity and its expressive power to depict the profundity of the human condition, which transcends societal and generational gaps. This exhibition is an overview of the entire genre of shojo manga, showcasing artworks of the 23 artists who most influenced the development of shojo manga in Japan. The exhibition is developed based on a touring exhibition of Shojo Manga! Girl Power!, which traveled to 9 sites in North America (Canada and the US, 2005-2007) and introduced the value of Shojo Manga. This is an updated exhibition, with additional original artwork, personal effects from each artist, and additional information about manga.
