About This Book

Touches upon most of the better-known Oklahoma outlaws and marshals such as Bill Tilghman, Chris Madsen, E.D. Nix, Heck Thomas, Bud Ledbetter, the Daltons, Ed Short, the Doolins, and many others. In 1914-1915 a group of old officers of Oklahoma, including Nix, Madsen, and Tilghman, organized a company and made a motion picture entitled THE PASSING OF THE OKLAHOMA OUTLAW. It was to be a true presentation of history, and Mr. Tilghman was chosen director. Mr. Graves was paid to write this little book from material given him by Mr. Tilghman, and the latter had it printed in a local print shop. It wa published to be sold at the theaters where the picture was exhibited.
