SInce the early 60s the children of Middle class Wales have been protesting to save the language, they want radical action - ie Welsh schools, signs, TV and government services. They have been campaigning by forming committees, writing letters, petitions, marches, sub committees, the odd pop band and concert, more meetings and even the odd bit of graffiti and shouting loudly. Some have gone to jail, often for several weeks. Hundreds of bougeoise parents have been shamed about their own complacency, inaction and neglect of their own heritage. This collection of articles traces some of the more interesting elements of the protest movement - the Paris baricades it is not - but a very model of peaceful, democratic protest and a campaign for civil and human rights.
