Women And Ireland As Becketts Lost Others Beyond Mourning And Melancholia

This study investigates the relationship between emotion, memory, exile and the poetics of grieving in Beckett's works. Using a psychoanalytic framework, this monograph traces discourses of mourning, melancholia and abjection in Beckett's texts, and demonstrates how Ireland and women are often the objects of loss.
