About This Book

The Chilean sculptor Lorenzo Dominguez (1901 - 1963) went to Easter Island in 1960 under a grant from the Fondo Nacional de la Artes, Argentina. He spent there 13 months studying the Rapa Nui statues and rock art. This is the catalog of the exhibition he presented at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Buenos Aires on November 1961, upon his return from the Island.
The exhibit included 90 drawings and 7 embossed metal plates by Lorenzo Dominguez with Easter Island subjects and 146 photographs taken by the sculptor.
