About This Book

This play was constructed as an acting exercise for students of the London Academy of Dramatic Art to perform publicly in their own theatre. The criteria that governed its making were, first that it should work as a play before an audience, second that it should provide parts of appoximately equal length and importance for the twelve students who were to perform it, and last that the students should learn something of themselves and something of acting by doing it.
