A pioneering bibliography with critical annotations, of the literature of thanatology, death & dying, grief, hospice & palliative care during the great flowering of this literary field in the 1960's & 70's, including a unique taxonomy and structural description of the whole developing field at the time. The multitude of book reviews, often valuably tart and frank were a useful corrective at the time, identifying many high quality works, and delineating the exploitative and deplorable.
Note that the two editions of this book contain no duplications, but cover succeeding periods of books published on these topics. The later edition also includes fresh material on war and trauma
