For Love of Country

Aboriginal men and women from South Australia have served in every conflict Australia has been involved in since Federation. Their acceptance of conscription and their voluntary offers of service were made despite the systemic discrimination and intentional marginalisation they were subjected to. Throughout the ten years of research that has gone into the writing of this book, is has become clear that most of the men and women from South Australia who volunteered to serve in the Australian armed forces did so out of a sense of duty and a desire to do their part.
