Surrender the Jell-0

Surrender The Jell-0! combines collage and handwritten text to elucidate the meaning of and premise behind dance criticism. Purdum deconstructs the meaning of criticism clarifying the values of dance criticism and the history of negative perceptions of criticism. The cover is bright blue with magazine cut out letters, its pages alternating between bright colors juxtaposed with thick black and white borders and magazine collages. Some of the collages include pictures of dancers against bright red backgrounds with bubble blurbs reading surrender.
