Polderlichaam / Polder Body

Summer 1985. Having finally finished high school in the Northeast Polder, I was about to become a student far away, at the art academy in the city. My contact with the polder in subsequent years was limited to visits to my childhood home. But time and creativity transformed my outlook. I started going back more often. I foraged through the polder land with a camera. Photography took over and became a visual quest. A free-form photo book grew from all the material, a cycle of picture poems.
