The patchwork of our lives

The story takes place in southern Illinois where Katie lives and learns about her grandparents life in the early 1900's. Katie dreams of falling in love with her own prince charming, but Nick turns out to be difficult to understand and very secretive. As she sews the pieces of her grandmother's quilt, she wonders if her life will ever be peaceful and orderly.
