About This Book
The home of Clan Munro is a district within a part of the traditional country of Clan Mackenzie on the north shore of Cromarty Firth in the northern highlands of Scotland. The branch of the clan in which includes the Monros of Bearcroft and Auchinbowie is said to have sprung from John Monro of Milntown, son of Hugh Monro, ninth Baron of Foulis. The Milntown family are the senior cadets of the clan and are the only ones to spell their name Monro rather than Munro. Descendants live in Scotland as well as other parts of the world.
