About This Book

An exciting, fast-paced novel for young adults and adults that brings history to life. Main characters are two 16 year-old patriot boys from Massachusetts, a 16 year-old "camp follower" girl in the British army, and her father, a light infantryman. The boys go west to reinforce our northern army that is trying to stop a British invasion moving south from Lake Champlain. After the battle of Bennington, the boys encounter Molly in the woods, and though they start out as enemies, they join up and try to help her find her father in the opposing army. The boys will meet her father on the battlefield near Saratoga, NY, but only after Molly and Danny become romantically closer to each other. Nominated for the ALA's 2011 book award, Best Fiction of 2010 for Young Adults.
