Pierce's cause

Mr. Pierce, a lawyer, is hired by a brother and sister after their mother is murdered. The estranged husband is acquitted of her murder, so Pierce proceeds with a civil case, with life insurance money hanging in the balance. The case slowly moves through discovery, depositions, mediation, trial, and appeal, as revelations change Pierce's perceptions and conclusions.
