Waking up naked in strange places

Having been raised in a fundamentalist cult in Louisiana, Self-Abnegation-in-the-Service-of-the-Lord, renamed Abby, runs away just before her sixteenth birthday and gets a ride to Seattle, but just as she is getting used to modern life, she discovers that Father Wisdom was right about there being a beast inside her--one that wants to come out.
