Franciscan fables

"The stories which follow were originally published in The Catholic Fireside (London) and St. Francis' Home Journal (Pittsburgh, USA). The author claims no historical value for them; he will be satisfied if they are found to be in some slight measure reminiscent of the Fioretti whose spirit he has attempted to recapture." Given the freedom here to delight in the deeper truth than literal fact, these are enjoyable stories.
