Hendrick Jochemsz (ca.1624-1682) emigrated from Hamburg, Germany to The Netherlands, and from there to Albany, New York, where he married widow Elsie Janse (VanBreestede) VanAlcmaer. His children used the surname Hendricksz, and his grandchildren used the surname Schoon- maker. Descendants lived throughout the United States.
