Proposed 1978 Outer Continental Shelf oil and gas lease sale, offshore western and central Gulf of Mexico

"One hundred and thirty-seven tracts comprising 269,480 hectares (665,905 acres) are proposed for leasing action. The tracts are located offshore Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama in water depths ranging from 5 m to 160 m and a distance from shore from 6.5 km to 185 km.
