About This Book

It started on March 6, 1957. That was the day that Dr. and Mrs. Richard C. Braun landed in Ghana to begin their first term of medical missionary service abroad. That was also Independence Day for Ghana. This was such an interesting period in history that these young medical missionaries sent from the Evangelical and Reformed Church to serve through Ghana's indigenous Evangelical Presbyterian Church had much to write home about. It should be noted that these letters were not written for publication. Perhaps this accounts for much of the spontaneity that abounds in the following pages. - Editor's foreword.
