About This Book

In 1997, the Food and Nutrition Service commissioned a study of state-level efforts to provide food stamp recipients and eligibles with nutrition education. The purpose of the study was to provide FNS with descriptive information about how food stamp nutrition education has been implemented in states utilizing the optional nutrition education provisions of the Food Stamp Program. As a part of that study, six local case studies were conducted to examine how local programs implement state policy. This report presents information obtained from the six case studies.
