All Shook Up

Yska writes of New Zealand in the 1950s, emerging from the war years and uncertain about the future. A Cold War-obsessed conservative government sees the rising generation of restless, promiscuous teenagers as part of another godless conspiracy. As the events portrayed in Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures play out, the state tries to suppress the American influenced teenage subculture.
