Sicut malum

Manuscript 107 of the Bibliothek das Bischöfliche Priesterseminar in Trier concludes with Sicut malum, an anonymous chant setting bearing many of the hallmarks of Hildegard of Bingen's unconventional musical style. With clear associations between Hildegard, manuscript 107 and the scriptorium where the manuscript was prepared, the author looks at the possibility that this anonymous chant setting emanated from Hildegard's home in Rupertsberg.
