About This Book

This collection of music contains eight contrasting movements. Throughout the movements the composer has employed various small rhythmic ideas of 3 to 5 notes which are repeated immediately from player to player, regardless of meter. The pieces are well orchestrated among the three voices. The composer did not take advantage of changing timpani pitches between movements for further contrast, but since no other pitched instrument is involved, it is not necessary.
