Sources and analogues of the Nouvelles récréations et joyeux devis of Bonaventure des Périers

Volume II. As with the first volume, this consists of a preface detailing the scope of work and attendant methodologies, an introduction with a brief but comprehensive biobibliographical account of Des Périers, and the bulk of the text: detailed discussion of the sources and analogues of the last forty-five nouvelles. Since the first volume was published, more information on the first forty-five tales has been discovered. The new information is delineated in Appendix A, while Appendix B addresses nouvelle XIX seule.
