"The book, 'Culture insurance no title no reception" attempts to initiate a public debate beyond the boundaries of the visual arts on the topic of art production and, with it, the creation and preservation of culture and cultural assets. The 2004 project ZBO-SdM052005 – 1500 Jahre Sonderschutz der UNESCO für 50 zeitgenössische Kunstwerke (ZBO-SdM052005 – 1500 Years of UNESCO Special Protection for Fifty Contemporary Art Works) forms the basis of the book. Here, fifty contemporary artists were asked to submit a work of art, which was then to be stored in the underground Central Archive of the Federal Republic of Germany. Twenty authors have contributed to the publication, including Prof. A. Assmann, E. Kimminich, R. Horowski, T.C. Pollmann, Prof. H. Sowa, B. Nieslony, Prof. Dr. Bazon Brock. All of them offer different answers to the central questions of the debate, positing the topic in a cultural-anthropological and social-scientific context.
