About This Book
Systematic improvements of communications prior to widespread use or prediction of relative effectivess of materials prior to use are accomplished by pretesting. Social development programs, i.e., family planning programs in developing countries, should pretest their communications materials to maximize effectiveness and best utilize limited funds. Specific aids in pretesting radio announcements, posters, pamphlets, television spots, and movies are given. Methods of conducting pretests, analyzing the results, and using the results to improve the existing programs in communications are presented.
