Perspectivas culturales de Hispanoamérica

Reviews history of Hispanoamerica from pre-Columban cutures to present day. Examines landmark political events, and achievments in society, in literature and in the other arts. Part I looks at the geography and examines pre-Columban cultures, Spanish conquests and colonization of the New World, as well as the wars of independence that led to the fragmentation of Spain's American empire. Part II concludes with a study of the ethnic make-up of Latin America and a review of recent political, sociological and cultural events which have kept the region in a state of turmoil and evolution.
