About This Book

Nayara Rangel is a visual artist from Bahia who uses photography as meas of expression. She uses many references of her childhood, and her strong family roots has always given her the opportunity to experience, up close, the simplicity of people lives. This is my first authorial photobook. In it are contained memories of the simple, quiet and extremely human daily life of the houses that populated my history. It's about transiting into those cozy addresses. The book evokes images of houses, in its most intimate interior. They date back to a recent past, in a more living present than ever.ʺ (authorœs webpage) "Cláp! Cláp! The sound of "palms" precedes a voice at half height "Ô de casa! Tem gente aí? Toc toc." (Oh, those home! Knock, Knock. Is there anyone in?). This is the oldest "model of doorbell" known, throughout Brazil. Claps and then letœs go of a voice "Ôoooo" de casa!!! Au! au! (Ooooo" those home!!! Au! Au!).
