Although some of the material in this book has already appeared in print, especially the subjects as Nathaniel Isaacs, Barney Barnato and Alfred Beit, the author feels it did not have the wide readership it deserved, since it was published in expensive publications with a limited circulation only. The epic of the heroic Voortrekkers, which occupies a major section of this work, is significant to the Jews and to the people of all nations. It dramatically demonstrates that there is no force nor hindrance in existence that could succeed in crushing the free and dedicated spirit in man.
