The Sherlock Holmes Victorian Cookbook

A collection of recipes representative of the era for fans of both Sherlock Holmes and good food. They have been culled from such sources as Mrs. Beeton's book of household management and the Compendium of cookery and reliable recipes, first published in 1890, and adapted for modern tastes and methods. Each of the eighty recipes is accompanied by an excerpt from a Holmes mystery and includes anecdotes about the food and Victorian times.
