Inishkillane: change and decline in the west of Ireland

Inishkillane is a fictitious parish set in western Ireland. The author travelled and lived among the country peoples in the counties of Clare, Galway and Donegal, gathering material on the social life and customs of a changing, isolated culture. He created Inishkillane to represent a composite of the communities studied.
