About This Book

This study is limited in folk communication in the media area, and analyzes experience of the literary work of Luiz Beltrão, in order to verify to what extent his work engenders the elements in the studies of folk communication, namely in its the Excluded Communication Theory (1967). For this study short stories and novels were selected in order to find the literary text identifying marks of folk communication, since the very fabric of narrative Luiz Beltrão occurs often in the presence of political and ideological struggle between academic and popular culture, still emphasizing extreme social differences. In his literary work Beltrão weaves narratives with events depicting the reality of oppressed individuals, revealing the daily life of the people of the lower classes, always in confrontation and demand forces with the political and social powers. With theoretical support of Bourdieu (2004), which posits the theory of fields and develops the concept of habitus, raises a set of beliefs and social practices that embody the identity of individuals in society, particularly in the group of the excluded. Thus, the research aims to verify that the literary work of Luiz Beltrão folk communication elements were already present, as postulated hypotheses raised here.
