Common threads

MODERN & CONTEMPORARY FICTION (POST C 1945). A story about a small town country girl who grew up on the river banks in southeast Georgia. She hails from a dirt-poor family consisting of crop farmers, who encourage her to marry into wealth for a better life. On the banks of the same river, another youngster grew up poor, but he had to rely on himself for success. Their paths intertwine years later as they make their way back to the river they love.
