The personal memories of Alfons Hering, former managing editor of Gwiazda Polarna, the largest Polish language newspaper outside of Poland. He remembers the outbreak of WWII in Poland, six years in a German POW camp, liaison service with the U.S. Army after the war, immigration to America in 1950, and the experiences that followed.
