Red silk pantalettes

Martha Barnhard Harper tells us she wrote Red Silk Pantalettes to make real to her three children two of their great-grandparents, Martha Jane having been Mrs. Harper's grandmother. Some of the characters in the story are fictitious but the members of the two principal families are decidedly not. This is her first novel for young people although several of her short stories have been published.
