Near-Earth Objects

The primary focus of 47 papers (from an April 1995 meeting) is directed toward the need for gathering and interpreting scientific data to understand the Earth's past history, evaluate current astronomical observations, and outline future exploration missions to NEOs. Sections on astronomy, earth and planetary sciences, astronautics, detection and mitigation, and UN issues can be thought of as a continuation of those contained within the foundation volume Hazards Due to Comets and Asteroids which summarizes most of the preceding work in NEOs and serves as a starting place for those interested in the study of NEOs and their possible interaction with the Earth.
