Ugolovnoe pravo i sovremennostʹ

A collection of papers on a range of current issues concerning the practice of criminal law. The papers were written by faculty members of institutions of higher learning in Omsk, Nizhegorod oblast', Cheliabinsk, Tiumen', the Khakass Republic, Ufa, Mocow, and Krasnoiarsk, as well as the M. Planck Institute of International Law in Germany. The papers concern such issues as criminal negligence; the concept of group crime; fines and alternative forms of punishment; mitigation of criminal liability through acts of repentance; security measures to prevent crime; physical pain and suffering of victims of violent crime; corruption of minors; distinguishing property crimes involving fraud or abuse of trust from civil torts; legal issues in the war on terrorism; special training of anti-corruption and organized crime specialists in Germany; criminological profile of persons murdering their newborn infants.
