About This Book
This is a short biography of John MacBride. It tells of his youth in Westport and his life in dublin. He went to South Africa where he organised and co-led an Irish Transvaal Brigade to Fight for the Boers in the Anglo-Boer War of 1899...He married Maud Gonne in 1903 and separated in 1904. Thier son was Sean MacBride on Amnesty and UN fame. John was part of the movement that erupted in the 1916 rising after which ehe was executed.
