About This Book

The design and operation of a seawater system to provide water for fish and invertebrates is described. The system was located at the National Marine Fisheries Service lab at Tiburon California. Water was pumped from San Francisco Bay and was then filtered, corrected for salinity, and temperature controlled. Salinity control was done by mixing 100% seawater brine with the partially recirculating seawater. The system operated from 1973-1980 when the laboratory moved.
