Offshore access bridge design in aluminium

The thesis looks at alternative design of an offshore access bridge, originally designed in steel, which spans between two offshore rigs in the North Sea. Weight is always a problem with offshore structures so the possibility of using Aluminium as a design material was the subject of this thesis. Corrosion is also a big problem and both these issues are investigated.
