Energy balance considerations in permafrost hydrology

Paper presented at the Workshop Seminar on Permafrost, CNC/IHD, Calgary, Alberta, February 26-28, 1974. An overview of how surface heat exchange processes affect the movement and supply of water in permafrost regions. Hydrological problems are dealt with from an energy balance point of view.
