Escape from Sulmona

The true story of Donald Jones escape from PG78 Prisoner of war camp at Fonte D'Amore, near Sulmona in Abruzzo, Italy. The book describes his escape and evasion from the occupying German forces for 6 months, until he reaches the Allied advance as it moves north through Italy. He describes his escape routes and the help he receives from shepherds, charcoal burners and the italian people of the mountain villages in the Abruzzi region, forming life long friendships with some of them.
