About This Book

The history, in both factual and anecdotal terms, describes the lineage of James Fitzwilliam and Mary Byrne; the history includes the marriages of their son, Thomas, to Eliza Watson of St. Louis and their daughter, Elizabeth, who married Dr. John O'Brien. Dorothy Garesche' Holland was a descendant of that latter marriage. While Mrs. Holland did not have the benefit of the internet or a lot of resources that we take for granted today, she wrote a very nice summary of the three families and attempted to trace the origin of the Fitzwilliam name and family in Ireland.
