Rick Tremaine is determined to discover what really killed his brother, a junior swimming champion, who died suddenly at a Melbourne health and fitness centre. Though he trusts no-one at the complex, Rick is increasingly drawn to Tessa Raymond, the assistant manager, and confides to her his suspicions that performance-enhancing drugs are being sold on the premises.
