Los espejos de Duarte

This book analyzes the images and discourse of Juan Pablo Duarte, with particular interest given to the discourses that are used to construct images, give meaning to certain facts, and function in political projects. Rather than trying to establish the legitimacy of any specific images, the author proposes an investigation into the heterology or multiplicity of images. By clearing away the artificial rhetoric from Duarte's images, we are not led to the reconstruction of any one image, but rather to no image at all.
