About This Book
In 1881 Winslow Homer left New York to spend a year and a half in London and came back significantly changed in his style of art. Tatham explores what happened, looking closely at the artist's life and work before, during and after his sojourn abroad. The final chapter treats the years 1905-1910 when his health was failing, but recognition of his work was growing strong. The book includes a section of 16 small-size color reproductions as well as a couple of maps showing where Homer lived in London.-Publisher.
