The man Tutankhamen

This book was one of many written to capitalise on the recent discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamen. ( 1923) It is a general narrative of the times and covers the family history of Tutankhamen. It describes his immediate family and includes Akenhaten and the building of Armana. It gives a breakdown of the social classes and the way of life of the ordinary people. Also covers life in Thebes and the rituals of mummification and the Egyptians attitude towards the afterlife. Some of the information given about Tutankhamuns' family structure is now known to be wrong in view of later research.
