About This Book

<div>Paperback booklet with maroon, slightly textured covers, held together with two staples on the left side. The back cover is blank. There is a picture of a house surrounded by trees with a sidewalk, inside a small rectangle in the center of the front cover. The house is yellow, and the sky is blue. Above the picture is the title in yellow capital letters: "Beautiful Homes." Underneath the picture, also in yellow ink: "The Post Enquirer Plan Book, Published in the Interest of More and Better Homes by The Post Enquirer." The inside pages and illustrations/photos are brown, or sepia, and white. Several of the pages have borders that are designed to look like wood grain. Size: 7.75" x 10.5"</div><div><br /></div><div>** Was unable to find much information on how a newspaper got involved in house plans. From the following link: https://www.loc.gov/item/sn86071849/ , we learned that the "Oakland Post Enquirer" ran from 1922. 1950 in Oakland, CA. It resulted from a merger between the Oakland Daily Post and the Oakland Enquirer. This paper was daily except for Sundays. This booklet was published by Cleveland Publications, in San Francisco. <br /></div>
