About This Book

Teenager Teresa Brat addresses someone in her life whom she has hurt. She reflects on the abuse she suffered at the hands of her mother, her experiences of ostracization, and her struggles with illness and self loathing. She faces constant ridicule and exclusion due to her appearance. She addresses her abuser, as well as someone she's in love with. Though she's very resistant to the idea of love, she can't help but be enamored with every aspect of this person, from their soft spoken mannerisms to the way their hair falls down over their face. Brat ends the zine with a final apology to the person she has wronged, considering what it might be like to meet again.
