Global forces 2006

ASPI held its 2nd International Conference "Global Forces 2006" at the Hyatt Hotel, Canberra on Tuesday, 26 September and Wednesday, 27 September 2006. Global Forces 2006 focussed on the critical strategic issues facing Australia and sessions will study the global context and major influences, security instruments and arrangements, Asia-Pacific regional security issues and consider Australia policy responses. We were very fortunate to assemble a talented collection of prominent international and national speakers and topics included the globalisation of security; NATO<U+2019>s expanding horizons; balancing American<U+2019>s global and regional interests; prospects of the greater Middle East; The US-China-Japan relationship and balancing Australia<U+2019>s security interests.
